Bridgestone BMW CCG Kyalami Track and Race Day
Hosted by Auto Bavaria Midrand
1 December 2019 (Sunday)
It is that time of the year and once again the big one is fast approaching! As promised, and as in 2017 and 2018, entries are opened first to those who have supported previous events on the calendar. From 1 November 2019 we will open entries to all other club members. Please note that only payment will secure your entry! If you have entered but not paid, you will only be placed on the waiting list and also please ensure you use your name as reference. So to secure your entry please register and pay as soon as possible. The biggest change is that it will be on a Sunday this year.
Here is the important information, PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BEFORE DOING YOUR REGISTRATION.
All entries and arrangements will be final on Friday 22 November 2019.
Time Trials
The time trial sessions will run as they have done in the past few years. Cars will be split into 4 groups according to lap time/performance. We are limiting the event to 80 time trial cars and 40 race series entries to lower the amount of cars on track and so that every competitor can park inside the pits. However depending on the demand and if the pits are full we can pit competitors outside behind the pits
Race Series
This will be a championship round in our normal racing format. Drivers who want to enter their BMW race cars into the races who are not part of the Bridgestone BMW Club Race Series will be placed into a class according to their laptimes, our category’s rules and regulations will apply for driver and race cars, the driver will not qualify for any points in the championships (If you require the rules and regulations please email requesting a copy)
Pits
Pits will be allocated to groups on track to ease the traffic flow onto the circuit. Wherever possible, we will accommodate teams and crews that normally stay together, however you will need to notify the organizer in advance of these requests. We would also like to keep support vehicles to an absolute minimum but note NO support vehicles will be allowed inside the pits.
General
Mandatory clothing for time trials is a helmet, driving gloves, long cotton shirt, long pants and closed shoes. It is highly recommended to carry a fire extinguisher in your car and have tow hooks fitted in case a recovery is required
You are welcome to take passengers on track. They will need to complete a passenger indemnity and pay R50 at the BMW Car Club desk on the day.
MSA licences are required for this event. If you do not have a licence, you may apply for a day licence but this needs to be booked and paid for BEFORE 22 November 2019, Day licences can be applied on the MSA website, www.msaonline.co.za, Contact the organizer for information. PLEASE NOTE IF YOU ARE OVER 50 YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE A STRESS ECG WITH YOUR APPLICATION FOR EITHER A DAY OR ANNUAL LICENCE!
As per last normal, no alcohol will be served at the venue.
Bridgestone Hot Laps
The fee is R200 for 2 laps with a professional driver and will run from the first time trial sessions in Group 2, 3 and 4.
